123 reg web hosting unfortunately like many other uk hosts don't use a known control panel which would offer so many extras for webmasters like adding free parked, add-on and sub domains to one hosting account. Or advanced stats which cPanel offers.
Summary:
If you are looking for a reliable web host with UK based customer support but don't mind paying an arm and a leg with 123-Reg is recommended. Although they don't use a common control panel like cPanel which offers so many hosting features. Going to a big company has its benifits but unfortunately always has too many negatives for us. 123reg is a good hosting provider since i have a small website for my company that its not known. It is affordable, servers work pretty fast and their customer service is nice even though it needs improvement. It is not my favorite but it is definitely host i use for my website.
Absolutely Hopeless

The main bugbear i have with 123-REG is with their customer service. Their site actually works quite well for uploading etc. It goes downhill when you have a problem though. I have had a couple of bandwidth and other technical problems which after paying for extra (bandwidth) you would think it would be a few minutes to sort out, even a couple of hours. No, sometimes it can take literally days. Trying to get hold of them is like trying to find Lord Lucan. Time and time again you wait in the phone que only to be disconnected - from their end. Promises of call backs might as well be disregarded. On their help section online you are met with stock answers and queries closed without warning or resolution. So therefor i cannot recommend 123-REG. Avoid them, if only to keep your stress levels down.

I took a standard package and spent 5 days building my site. Then upgraded to a pro package to get more pages and paid again. When i spoke to them about the double charge they said it was their mistake and refund the standard fee. Five minutes later my website was deleted and completly gone. After 30 mins on the phone they said i could not speak to any supervisor or manager as nobody was available for the whole day. Told me they would investigate and get back to me within 48 hours and no sooner. Told me this had never happend before but on research it seems quite common with them. 5 days work over £300 in fees overall and i have no site or answers as to why. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY THEY ARE UNABLE TO COMPLETE EVEN BASIC TASKS AND WHEN YOU QUESTION SOMETHING YOU WILL BE READ TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
